There's no
bad way to get to Alpine (except by sea), but our favorite
way to arrive is via the scenic Texas highways that cut through
and twist around the mountains.
And, happily,
lots of wildlife is easily viewed, with no safari arrangements
required. For instance, all the photographs on this page were
taken from paved Texas highways, from a speedy, bright red
Alfa Romeo.
